After 2 years in the making! A demo is born!!! (But it's a long demo, anywhere from 40 minutes to 2 hours of heart pounding gameplay!

FEAR. THE. VACUUM. MAN.

VACUULUS is a survival-horror game, but without blood/gore or macabre elements. You play as a young boy known for being a slob, waken in the middle of the night by a legendary monster known as the Vacuum Man (or Vacuulus). According to legend, you must clean your house to vanquish him, but while remaining unseen. For if it sees you, it will take you away.

The game is in first person perspective with a heavy emphasis on sneaking and aggressive stealth, you must balance staying hidden but while always moving.

VACUULUS also sports features such as full body awareness, a dynamic music system, and 3D cinematics with fully animated characters as well as 2D animated sequences, with voice acting and its own bone-chilling soundtrack to boot.

Features Overview:
-Immersive first person survival horror.
-Scary and stressful, with its fair share of jumpscares. But overall an all-ages experience!
-Captivating cinematic A.I. driven gameplay that challenges your skill and patience! It’s not just a spookfest, it’s a FUN and CHALLENGING spookfest!
-Fully animated and voice acted characters!
-2D and 3D cutscenes to drive the story.
-Cute cartoony visuals and characters but in a dark and chilling setting.
-Original, bone chilling soundtrack composed by the author.
-Fullbody awareness as you control a fully animated character. A game where mirrors actually work? What?
-Many aspects of randomization every start of a new game.
-Includes a "hard" difficulty mode, the game author's original vision for the difficulty, for those who want a bigger challenge.
-Heavy emphasis on sneaking while remaining action packed!
-Responsive and snappy character controls to help you sneak effectively.
-Full native game translations for Japanese and Spanish!
-Full controller support! (only partial in the demo for now
-Collectables, achievements and fun secrets everywhere! (in the demo, no collectables/achievements, but the demo does contain a secret or two if you reaaaally keep your eyes peeled!!)

Amazing game! i love the artwork and graphics, and the gameplay was defiantly solid too! There was a minor "glitch I found when hiding in the garage on the right side of the car lol. But overall I enjoyed it!! GREAT HORROR GAME!!!

OH wow! I mean it's still a death sentence but you successfully found a god-spot. I had no idea that was there! Haha, awesome find man. (Enjoyed your playthrough too btw!! And thanks for all the kind words!!!)

I LIKED THIS ROBOT ACTUALLY
(+1)

Cool demo! Took me a while to get the hang of the game. I look forward to the full game!

Thank you!! <3

(1 edit)

I discovered this cool game while looking through itch.io and stuff. ^^ I just have, one problem though? ^^;

But uhm.. How do I start it up? It just gives me a file and thats it, Is there any way you could help me start it up or something?.. <:c

The file must be opened and extracted with a zip program. WinRAR is my fave for that. Google it. ;)

Thank you! Its working now. <3

Vacuum go vroom.

Definitely looking forward to the full version to see how you will further the plot and improve the mechanics of this game. Odd to think that a game that looks almost like a cartoon/anime and premise is about a vacuum man chasing you around your home to suck you up can be such a scary experience.

(1 edit)

Haha who would've thought??

Thanks so much for playing man, glad you liked it. Watched your playthrough in full and it was entertaining. You sure figured out the mechanics fast as well, so kudos!

"WE'RE GOIN' UNDER THE BED THAT WE WERE CONCEIVED IN" gave me a good laugh.

Looking forward to watching you play hard mode if you do! 😉😏 (But just FYI the ending is the same so don't get too let down! lol)

(+1)

Dude the sound production makes this game a trillion times scarier to the thunders, plates that i drop and my flat feet hitting the floor. But what i wanna know is can the vacuum monster teleport?

LOL the first 30 seconds were amazing. And yes, yes he can.

(+1)

I loveeeeeee the art style of this game, big shout out to Parimak for this one. One of my biggest fears is being chased and you'll hear me scream a couple of times lol, sit back and enjoy the video. Peace&Love <3
(+1)

Thank you dude! Happy you enjoyed it!! <3

Very solid demo! Fantastic animated intro, fun mechanics, and a cool unique monster. The demo is quite difficult, but I managed to beat it on normal. I am looking forward to the full release. Hopefully more things to do than just pick up objects, such as cleaning the countertops, replace lightbulbs, wash the dishes, etc. The vacuum noise is somewhat random to me. (To be fair I am hard of hearing, but I feel like sometimes the vacuum noise does not activate even when the monster is the other side of the door.) Oh if possible I would love some subtitles. It seems like you did it very briefly in the intro but not in the 2D animation.

I can tell you put a lot of time and effort in this game. I think its a great demo. Minor tweaks here and there nothing too major that I can think of at the moment. Well done mate!

Thank you sir! Happy you liked it! Thank you for playing!

(+1)

I love the art style. And this game is fire. I will never beat it though lol. Its impossible

(+1)

You can do it if you try hard and believe in yourself!!! Believe in the me that believes in you!

A really unique and interesting game that takes the horror genre and shows that fear does not have to involve blood and gore, you can really sense the tension and panic in the air as you do not want to be taken away by the "Vacuum Man"

The game is very graphically pleasing, the ambient lighting in the home is spot on and there are great shadow details too. The controls are fluid and intuitive ( although there does not seem to be control listed for sprint in the menu)

There was a minor problem and that was the way the character faces when leaving the hiding place inside the garage, the character seems to face the wall which could be a potential problem if the "Vacuum Man" is in the same area.

The soundtrack is also very good and is similar another game on itch.io called "Nemeses" as it has a very dark and sinister tone and makes you very wary of your surroundings and makes you very uneasy.

This is a fun and challenging game that is a wonderful experience to playthrough, you can tell a great deal of thought and effort is put into the game and it really shows, the game has a great deal of potential and it will be interesting to see what the final game turns out like.

Thank you so much!! Happy you enjoyed it!

Thanks for the game!

Survival games are a subgenre of action video games set in hostile, intense, open-world environments. Players generally begin with minimal equipment and are required to survive as long as possible by crafting tools, weapons, shelters, and collecting resources. Many survival games are based on randomly or procedurally generated persistent environments; more recently, survival games are often playable online, allowing players to interact in a single world. Survival games are generally open-ended with no set goals and often closely related to the survival horror genre, where the player must survive within a supernatural setting, such as a zombie apocalypse.

This game truly shows - never underestimate your mom's wrath for being a slob! ^_^

I really enjoyed the game I couldn't complete it because my brother use the computer for studying I can only play game on Friday for 1 hour I have a phone I also have a question plz answer this question will this game be available for Android and iOS thank you

I did test the waters with Android, but I'm afraid as of right now, there are no plans for a mobile version!

I think you can make Android port with joystick and lower the graphics big time just like hello neighbor they lowered their graphics I'm looking forward to this game

I really liked the anime part and all but the game was friking difficult hahaha.  It would be cool if we could use the nerf gun to stun him or something. I hope you like my gameplay and If you do you could subscribe to my channel SilverChiara. Hope to see more from you!

Hello, dev!
I had so much fun with this game!
And you made Japanese version too, so I played both! (Yes, I'm Japanese)

To beat this game, it took much time so I don't think I can beat hardmode XD

As a video creator, I thought editing these videos is a little bit hard.
Coz of so much darkness, Vacuum man's big move, and long death scenes.
Yeah, but it doesn't matter. If not video creator, everybody can enjoy this.

This is a great game coz players can learn how to beat eventually.
First I thought "oh no, I can't. Too hard", but I can beat it (yes normalmode tho).

Boy's 3d model good, atmosphere good, you can beat it good!
I really appreciate that you made this!

Thank you so much! I'm absolutely stoked to see how much Japanese players are liking the game!! Thanks for giving the game your best shot and thanks for the multiple vids, happy you enjoyed! <3

(+1)

I wanna start off by saying don't let my rage dissuade you from trying out this game. It's one of the most polished and frightening indie horror games I've played. My lack of patience really shows in this video, but overall I very much enjoyed my time playing this. My only small complaint is that sometimes I felt the antagonist was able to see me too easily when I felt he shouldn't have been able to, and I found it difficult to hide properly in a few cases. Otherwise, this is a masterfully crafted game that I kept wanting to try to beat even after rage quitting multiple times. (Spoiler alert: I couldn't beat the game)

(+1)

Haha, well thank you for giving it your best shot!! And thank you for the kind words, happy you liked it dude!!

Hello, author, can I download your game?

By all means go ahead!

Can you please add a Linux release, and while you're at it add a Mac OS release too. Windows is not the only platform for gaming. I do love the art style and game's graphics.

(+1)

I'm exploring other platforms and OSs for sure! and thank you!

A GoG release would be very cool!

(+4)

DASHIE PLAYED I HAD TO DOWNLOAD IT RIGHT AWAY
(+2)

hi, big thx for the cool game. wow, i love it. greetings from rosti 😁

Happy you liked! Nice video !🤗

Happy you liked it!! Thanks for playing!

(+1)

Alright, I did say the game was stupid in the video but that was because I was angry, overall the game is really good, nicely made, ai scary (kinda) and the random events like garage door button jumpscare are real adrenaline giver, I always  kept watching left and right, up, down, forward backward because I did not know what to expect, voice acting was lovely! animation was great, of course there was some bug with ai where he like glitched through wall i do not know how.  Peeking function is really slow btw, but overall game is good, nice concept, and I can scare my little cousin with this >:)

Glad to hear you enjoyed it! Thanks for playing! :>

(+3)

A truly wonderful demo that had my heart in my mouth pretty much the entire time. I'll certainly be taking a look at the full game later on. Well done

Thank you! Happy you liked!

(+1)

This game is really good! haven't played a horror game like this since the joy of creation reborn. I like the atmosphere the most, feels really unsettling and  also the art style. The only problem so far is that there should be some kind of tutorial first before jumping into the game. its nice that the game tells you what your supposed to do in hints, until you run into the monster while you trying to figure out the mechanics. Other than that, it plays pretty good. can't wait for the full game to come out.

The Joy of Creation definitely had an inspiring hand. At least in a few aspects, so I'm glad to hear that's shown through.

You're not the first to suggest a tutorial either, I'll definitely consider something like that!!

Thank you for the kind words and thank you for playing, happy you enjoyed!

(+1)

The game is very well made and I liked the animations of the game. I just wish there was more audio cues to keep track of the vacuum man. Besides that, it's a nice game.

Here's my channel for other games I have played. http://www.youtube.com/c/Levont

Thank you and thanks for playing!!

Pros and cons are down below) Check out my vid here (I managed to beat the game on normal and I'm proud)) Though, after finishing my recording session, I cried in the corner for like 20 minutes (jk)

Advantages:

1. That was so scary I literally panicked for 40 minutes straight. The music and the monster create such a terrifying and powerful ambiance! The way the player can hear the monster stomping behind doors is so cool! The game scared me so much! But I managed to finish it (normal difficulty) and I'm proud!

2. I love the concept! It's very cool that the player has only 1 life - that makes the game challenging. Don't frick up or you're dead. I love that! Also, the way the electronic stuff can go cray cray any time is also cool and the story of having to clean the house is original, new and surprisingly terrifying!

3. I LOVE that when I got used to mechanics and monster's behaviour, the game completely changed the rules! I have a feeling that the monster could see the light of the flashlight, is that true? If it is, it would be extremely useful to be able to turn it off!

Disadvantages:

1. There were some bugs which is OK for demo. Once I had an animation of peeping behind the door but the door stayed closed.

2. Please, can you add a tutorial before the game starts with screenshots. Like if the car starts yelling come closer to it and do this, for a short amount of time you are safe. Don't get me wrong: in-game hints were also useful. But at first after seeing the monster, my panic mode activated and I was too afraid to waste my time on reading so i had to die several times before actually getting to read the tutorial hints.

3. It's so confusing going in and out of the closet and through doors. It feels like you get turned around which is a bit funky and disorianting.

4. The arrow up top at first is confusing. It's hard to see whether it's pointing forwards or backwards.

Overall:

The game is AWESOME! SO scary. 100/5! It still needs some polish and a tutorial with screenshots before the game starts, though. Also, I completely didn't get the point of interacting or investigating objects. Which objects and why? It feels like I never did that cuz wuz panicking too much - maybe it would be cool to make these interactions more important for winning or getting good end or some stuff like that. Oh, also, will the upstairs be available in the full version? I'm curious!

Hope my feedback was useful!

(+1)

Thank you for the detailed feedback! You're not the first to mention a tutorial as well as your other concerns so I've definitely noted that for the future! Upstairs and more will be in the full version, and the pics/inspectables are for extra lore and character building for the players that enjoy that stuff!

Thank you for the kind words and thank you for playing!! Happy you liked it!

Help Mom!

This is one of the games I enjoy playing and scared at the same time. The vacuum robot is hard and very sensitive even in normal mode. Thankfully if you remember the safe position you can usually out run it to hide! I did however encountered a glitch? My screen is all dark at the end and I couldn't do anything. I'll play again tonight and try to figure it out!

If you stay in a room too long, the game punishes you and the lights short out temporarily, that was no bug! I'll note that I need to explain that clearer in the future!

Glad you're enjoying it and thanks for playing!
